It’s that time of the year again where I have to face the dreaded task of cleaning out my closet. Spring cleaning! If you are anything like me, parting with clothes & shoes can be rather difficult. “This will come back in style I know it will.” “I’ll probably fit into this later, I’ll keep it for now.” I don’t know why I tell myself this when I know what the outcome will be. I must have some sort of ensemble-separation disease?!
After about a couple of hours of sorting through clothes and re-trying things on, my final outcome came to this.
- 36 shirts
- 8 jeans/pants/skirts
- 10 pairs of shoes
- 11 dresses
- 6 bags
- A box full of accessories
I was shocked with how much stuff I didn’t wear anymore and even more shocked at some of the things I bought (lets just say one person should not have as many sequined things as I’ve had)?! The good thing is that not only do I have more closet space now, but I have lots of items for a future yard sale me and my best friends will be putting together. I’m crossing my fingers in hope that the people who show up love sequins!
Here are some tips I came up with during my process. Hope this helps you add more room to your closet. For more tips check out Martha Stewart’s website for more ways to help with reorganizing your closet. Happy spring cleaning & best wishes!
